As my Moxie Project, Moxie in Manolos is the parallel of great style and knowing who you are in this world.
This book is for all the girls who want more out of life, feel stuck, trapped or just plain bored. There’s no judgment here, only support. If you want to start an animal rescue, open a B&B, start a clothing line, open a boutique, or make your mark in the corporate world; this is for you.
It’s time to get your moxie; to have the courage to choose a new path and walk it…in style, with grace, rockin’ a kick-ass pair of shoes.
An excerpt:
Moxie, like a timeless pair of Manolo Blahniks, is the grounding foundation for living your life, on purpose and with great style. It is a marvelous and miraculous thing and the best news is that you already have it. Moxie can’t be learned or acquired, it is part of our core. It is what makes us who we are, and not just how family, friends or society defines us, but our actual self, the one that we know best, the one that holds all of our hopes and dreams. Yet, like a knock-off Prada bag, (looks real, has the logo) the person we are led to believe we ought to be, tends to be the one that we become. To say it another way, our “ought-to-be” self is one that is driven by culture, society and family. It is the sum of our learned “shoulds” and “oughts.” I call this the Status Quo Provision. But, to be fair, in our actual-self’s defense, generations of imprinting behaviors and social norms are a very hard habit to break.
Habit is habit, and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.
~Mark Twain
The Moxie Project:
because the status quo is not enough
